The Mp3 Player Buying Guide
This is my first attempt in creating a buyers guide. So I hope it goes well.
First before you do anything decide what type of a music/video person you are-
Small Music Library-I have less than a 0-400 song music library.
Look for: Flash Memory players. If you have 100 songs or less, look for a 1GB player, if you have around 200 then I would suggest a 2GB player, for 400 songs.
Pros: Small. More durable.
Cons: You will pay more for the size.
Medium Music Library- I have more than 400 songs in my library but don’t have any more than 800
Look for: Flash Memory players that come in around at 8GB for your 800 music collection and anything less look for 5-7GB.
Pros: Small. More durable.
Cons: You will pay more for the size.
Large Music Library- I have a huge library and may want to store some videos on my player too.
Look for: Hard Drive based player with 20-80GB Storage.
Pros: All music will fit on your device.
Cons: Hard Drive based players are larger since there is a mini hard drive in there. This means that they will be heavier as well and bigger. Also, hard drives are easier to break than Flash players so take care of your product!
Top five features of MP3 players to look for:
- Disk mode, this will allow you to have your player act as a hard drive and carry documents and files around with you.
- Calendar, most devices come with a calander and to-do list so you can put on your daily schedule on it!
- Photo Viewing, hook up your player to a tv and watch your photos from your family vacation on a big TV or see them on the screen of your mp3 player.
- Long battery life, rechargable batterys are nice for mp3 players, do reasearch about the model you are looking into about buying and check out the battey life. More than 12 hours is good for a player and the great ones go at 15 and higher!
- Voice Recording, mini games, clocks and more!Mp3 players now will include (well most) voice recording, clocks for different parts around the world and more! Mp3 players don’t JUST play music anymore!
Why do I need one?
If you are having trouble convincing your parents to get you one, or just don’t know what you could use one for–check these uses out.
- Running
- Sports Practices
- Shooting baskets or practicing for a sports
- While doing homework (I think research proves this helps you do better… but you have to lisnin to classical music!
- While traveling
- Can act as a hard drive for transferring school files
- Watching videos
- Listing to audio books! (Your parents will be impressed with that one
- Viewing Photos
And a whole lot more!
And a buyers guide just wouldn’t be complete with some recommended models!
